Suspension

Suspension is a collective work made by the artist and the children under age of 10 when they came to my exhibition in 2008. Parents told them the history of the Kai Tak Airport. They made their own wooden planes and wrote down their names and hopes on them to cherishing the collective memories of Hong Kong. Suspension means hanging and floating in the air, it suggests the retirement of the Kai Tak Airport and also expresses the uncertainty of the children, whether their hopes will come true or not in the future.
